I am a Ph.D. student at Marine Chemistry and Biochemistry Department in Institute of Oceanology PAN. I am also a MSc of Oceanography with specialization in marine and atmospheric chemistry. During my BSc studies I started research on toxic metals in sediments from polar regions and I defended my thesis on this topic. During my graduate studies I continued my sediment research, focusing on mercury. The polar regions, especially Spitsbergen (Arctic) are still an area of my research. In 2020 I started working at the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences as an intern and volunteer, where I was responsible for the preparation and collection of environmental samples. Currently, I continue to work on mercury and its fractions in sediments as part of my PhD studies. I plan to study the impact of climate change on mercury levels and bioavailability in the Arctic.
