My work in the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences started in 2011, when I have begun studies on practical usage of arsenic measurements as a proxy of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWA) leakage into the sediments from chemical munition dumped in the Baltic Sea. Over time, my area of interest expanded from munition dumpsites to the whole Baltic Sea and my research devoted to arsenic distribution became a basis for a PhD thesis, which I have successfully defended in 2020. Simultaneously, I have been involved in research tasks in the topic of mercury and its transformations in marine environments as well as taking part in numerous projects in the field of marine munitions and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
