I have expertise in Arctic fjords systems science, being educated in the field of oceanography, paleoceanography and sedimentology. My recent interests are the sea-environmental changes in European Arctic after last glaciation and modern processes resulting from the recent climate changes. Among them, the most interesting for me are sedimentation, interaction between fresh and salt water and supply of the terrigenous matter to the fjords and Arctic shelf with applications to the post-glacial climate changes study. Since science is the team effort, and I work with marine biologists, I also study the biological implications of the solids flux and sediment dynamics in the Arctic seas.
During 30 years of my professional activities I spent more than 50 months in European, American and Russian Arctic regions working in different scientific programs.
