Pelonaia corrugata (Goodsir & Forbes, 1841)
Description Solitary. Body elongated and bottle-shaped. Test wrinkled, coated with sand and mud, bearing fibrils towards the base. Size Up to 140 mm. Habitat Unattached and partly imbedded in sand or mud; from shallow water down to depths of 200 meters. Biology The young ascidian develops directly from attached embryo. Feeding Suspension feeder. Distribution Artic-Boreal distribution. |
