Species description
7 thoracic chaetigers, about 80 abdominal segments. About 12 pairs of long radioli. Peduncule wide, ribbon-like and wrinkled on edges. Operculum simple inverted cone covered with yellowish distal plate. Collar chaetae are similar to other thoracic chaetae. Abdominal chaetae geniculate, replaced by long capillary chaetae in posterior segment. Thoracic uncini saw-shaped, abdominal rasp-shaped.
Size
Up to 21 mm. Tube to 2 mm in diameter.
Color
Tube – opaque, white, circular in cross-section and irregularly coiled and attached to substratum throughout its length. Surface of tube pitted by numerous shallow indentations, each bounded laterally by inconspicuous ridges arranged somewhat irregularly, without longitudinal keels.
