Dorsum of posterior segments laterally expanded into broad, spatulate flange.
Species description
Body with 25-43 chaetigers. Prostomium rounded in front. Dorsally with a pair of short ovate antennae and 2 palps. Peristomium with 2 achaetous and apodus rings. Parapodia with both dorsal and ventral cirri. Simple chaetae unidentate with very finely serrated edges and compound chaetae with pointed serrated blades. Dorsum of posterior 5-12 segments laterally expanded into broad, spatulate flange. Mandibles rod-shaped with jagged bifid leading edge. Pygidium flattened with 2 ovate anal cirri inserted ventrally.

In alcohol opaque white.
