Department of Marine Ecology

Department of Marine Ecology IO PAS consists of two parts: the chemical part - Marine Pollution Laboratory deals with the advanced methods of chemical analyses of the sea water and sediment. The ecological part (Arctic Ecology Group) of the deaprtment works on comparative field ecology. The climate - related patternsof biodiversity, communities and population structure are studied in Baltic,European Arctic Seas and recently in tropical areas.
