Our research tasks are focused on biochemistry and genetics of marine organisms. We study molecular mechanisms associated with adaptation to marine environment. Investigating unique genetics features of model marine organisms, molecular biodiversity base, and methods of marine environment preservation are our essential scientific goals. Particularly advanced research projects conducted at the Department have been dealing with endocrine regulation in fish, doubly uniparental mtDNA inheritance in marine animals, and the behavior of marine bacterium Vibrio harveyi under stress condition.
