Objective: to study taxonomic, size and biomass structures of mesozooplankton communities from ecosystems functioning under different temperature regimes.

The research questions:
  • What are the taxonomic composition and size/biomass structures of mesozooplankton in the pelagic ecosystems functioning under different temperature regimes?
  • What is the influence of temperature on body size of Calanus finmarchicus and C. glacialis living in different temperature regimes?
  • What is the influence of the studied environmental factors on taxonomic and size/biomass structures of mesozooplankton communities?
  • What are the consequences of different taxonomic and biomass/size structures of mesozooplankton communities for their role in matter and energy fluxes through the pelagic ecosystems?
